oil smells of rotten eggs??!!

Just topped the oil up on my sisters 1.2 dynamique.

02, 40000 miles serviced last year. As soon as I opened the oil cap it stunk of rotten eggs. I have never known this happen on any of my previous cars.

What is the reason for the smell? Any ideas?

un usual, cat normally does ,

was there any residue on the top of the oil cap, also try the radiator cap see if thats ok

only think i can think of

Checked oil cap no residue and water filler bottle both OK.

Does seem strange though the car runs fine although she has only had it for about a month so may have been standing whilst waiting to be sold.
