oil temp gauge

hi ive got a 2005 1.2 16v extreme. it has the electronic petrol gauge + oil tempertaure. My oil temperure normally only sits at 2 bars and its never been a problem but i was recently in another clio and noticed theres sat at 4 bars. Sometimes if im in traffic or sat with car idle and not moving for about 10minutres it goes up to 4 bars only few times this has happened but it doesnt seem to affect the cars running or anything. Can anyone tell me where it should sit and do you think i have a problem if so any ideas what it could be? thanks in advance

It's the water temp gauge. Normally sits in the middle (4 bars) when up to temp. Your car isn't coming up to temp, so i'd say the thermostat is shot.
