oil temp sensor and oil level gauge

i have just got a 16v and am learning my way around the engine bay slowly can anyone tell me where the oil temp sensor is located, what are the common problems with the 16v dial set, the only one that works at the moment is oil pressure. you help will be greatly appreciated

Hi, I had the same dials (three in a row) on my RSi - they were fitted to both 16v and RSi towards the end of the factory run. Mine were never very reliable, TBH. I think the main sensors are located on the front of the engine, but I don't have photos. Try taking the wiring off as a test, off the small sensors on the engine and seeing then which gauge stops altogether. The if it isn't working well get a new one and replace.

Oil level only works when you've got the ignition on 1or2 turns not with the engine on
