Oiled filters

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked a million times, but Ive had problems before with oiled filters like K&N fouling the airmass sensor. Is this a problem for a Clio 172 and if so am I best sticking to a non-oiled foam one?

Not an issue on the 172, but the best panel filter you can get is the ITG foam one...

a 172 doesnt have an air mass sensor like a vauxhall for example if thats what you mean.they only have a pressure and air temp sensor so fitting a k&n shouldnt cause any problems.

Cheers chaps.

Yes, it was my Vectra I was thinking of, I over-oiled my K&N like you do, lol, and buggered the airmass sensor

The car doesnt come til the 1st March but I am going to get a panel filter first and fit it straight off so the ECU can learn it. I like to keep cars fairly standard but I like to make them as efficient as possible, although I guess renault have done a pretty good job anyway, 172hp from a 2.0, and with a decent amount of low-down poke as well. Im presuming a replacement panel filter wont void the warranty like an induction kit would.

Looking forward to getting it, running it in and then having some fun. Coming from a 2.6 Vectra SRi I suprised myself by how much I enjoyed driving the Clio, it didnt feel like a small car to drive.
