Ok I have searched and searched...

I have searched for this topic but not really found anything apt to what I am thinking about.

I was thinking about getting a Clio 16v but I came up with a different solution to my power needs the other day.

Hopefully it will be cheaper than paying out 4k for a valver. And I get to keep my first real car in with the bargain.

So I have a 1.4 RT with the 8v Energy engine in. No mods (apart from wheels, nodding dog and only fools and horses dice)

I was wondering how easy it would be to put a GT 1.4 turbo lump in my clio? Odviosly I mean taking my engine out and putting that one in its place rather than just putting the r5 engine on the back seats or something.

I am just wondering about price of the engine, how easy it is to fit, who can do it (company wise) how much it would be to fit, and what kind of other work might need to be done to the car to make it all work. Do I need a new gear box, drive shaft, exhaust and do I need any sort of extra ventalation in the engine area? and anything else you can think of.

I just think it will be slightly more interesting than having a valver, more annoyance for the nova boys if they get capped by a guy in what they think is a 1.4 8v. Well it will be, but one with a turbo strapped to it.

Torsion Tuning seems to be the best place, 1800 + complete donor car, i think. So call it £2.5k-£3K, other option Hill Power 1.6 megane conversion. With a GTT conversion there seems to be plenty of space in the bay.
