Old skool games - Commodore 64/Amiga 500

Car  Mk4 .:R32
Just thinking about how frustrating new games and game consoles can be (i.e. black ops and host migration/connection interrupted). Got me thinking back to a simpler time, playing loads of games on my Amega 500 when I was about 10 years old! A few of my favs:

- Cannon Fodder

- Worms

Alien Breed
Xenon 2 Megablaster
Kick Off 1 & 2

Some that haven't been mentioned so far... quite sad that I can remember them all, but my god, I loved my Amiga 500. Still remember as a kid getting 1MB of RAM for Christmas, think it set my parents back about £80.

Oh, and I think X-Copy deserves a special mention for making it all possible! :)

Street fighter and sonic on sega megadrive.
Oh and that game that was installed on the original megadrive (where you dont put a game in and the game loads)

FLOL @ Rick Dangerous. Awesome game!

Others on the C64 for me include:

Park Patrol
Ghostbusters
Daley Thompsons Decathlon (rediulous ammounts of shaking the joystick to death lol)
Chucky Egg (think thats it was called)
Boulder Dash
Bomb something or other, little dude in a red cape I think had to fly around the screen collecting the bombs before they blew up.
Some sort of snooker game (on a black & white TV, was awesome lol)
Rambo. Used to love wacthing the picture build on this one whilst it was loading, one row of massive pixles at a time with that nasty music :)
my mate had some sort of F! sim on his Amiga, that was a good crack
Lesuire suit larry ;)
Hero Quest (computer game of the board game)

and people mentioning SNES games clearly aren't old school enough....

Speedball
Speedball II
Elite
Xenon II: Megablast

Sensible Soccer

Many many more.

Now you're talking, it took me frigging ages to get from deadly to elite, played it that much that I could dock at a space station faster than the docking computer ;)

Megablast was the dogs part, I played that on the ST and spent a good hour just listening to the sampled music from the intro the first time.

I destroyed three joysticks playing that. The worst event was the last one - the 1,500metres. FFS - that was tough going!
