No, just got home and was getting stuff out of the car. Noticed a trail behind me on the road. Thought it was just water where id driven through a puddle, but for some reason i touched it and it was greasy. Looked under the car and there was that

The bottom of the car, rear wheels and brakes are nicely coated in oil.

Yeah, Im not mentioning the garage as that wouldnt be fair, mistakes happen and i dont know the full details. Am disapointed though. The day started bad with a reocurrence of the ABS warning light problem that they had supposedly fixed.

Just hope the AA can sort me out, and ill see what the garage says on monday.

AA guys just left. He found me by following the oil trail :p

Sump plug was the culprit. It was just rolling around in the plastic sump tray.

A bit worrying though that he didnt have a tool to put the sump plug back in:confused:. Had to go to Halfords and get one. Godd job they were open, and the sump plug was caught in the tray, otherwise id have had to be towed.

Now got to clean up the drive and half the estate as ive left oil everywhere....

Its had 5L of 10w40 GTX Magnatec put in it, is this stuff ok?

0w40 or 5w40 fully synthetic is the best if you want total protection, as the actress said to the bishop.

10w40 Magnatec is fine as its what most Reno dealers use.

Well I guess i shouldnt have expected any more from a Renault dealer, but I thought Id found one that was different.

I take the car back to the dealer responsible for not tightening the sump plug causing the above this morning. Got no apology whatsoever, was told I couldnt have a courtesy car, then threatened with a £70 inspection charge if they cant find anything else with the ABS light problem that they made worse at the same time as the service. They finally gave me a car (Modus Automatic wahey!).

Ive given this dealer a lot of praise on here, and now feel really let down. Hopefully there will be a better experience when I go to collect the car this evening, but i doubt it.

Things were very different this evening. I think words have been had, and they are sorting everything out.

ABS problem has been tracked down and being sorted tomorrow (cheers mate (you know who you are!)), and the car is gleaming . They may just restore my faith yet!

Does mean i have the Modus for another night. What a beast that is :devilish::p Very comfortable though!

Itll be reet. I once drove my mums 1L AX after its first service and noticed the oil light coming on intermittently.

It went off though. When it came on permanently it turns out Id been doing 80+ for most of the M60 twice round, with no oil! Dumbassess had drained it and plugged the sump but not put any back in!

Its still going strong.

Yeah, nice to hear from another local owner. Theres a quite a few of us from the Southampton and Portsmouth areas. Loads more if you go as far as Bournemouth way.

You should come along to the next southern meet (whenever that is?)

Nik ... glad to hear that things are progressing positively. We definitely owe a particular person a drink or two at the Xmas meal for the attention and care he brings to our cars :D!

Darren16v ... why dont you join the club ;) Its an absolute bargain especially if you buy the ClioSport sticker ... which you must so that we can spot you out and about. Once youre a member you can go and look on the member map to see all the local members. Got plenty about, including plenty of regulars on the forum.

Live in Bournemouth half the time cos @ Uni. knew there were quite a few guys down here but did not realise there were any around Winch area. Although I did have a guy wave at me in a very low Willy in Chandlers Ford nr Peter Greens back in the summer.

I live just down the road from Peter Greens, the other side of the industrial estate. :) That will be the phantom Williams that people seem to keep spotting, but doesnt seem to visit cliosport.

Do you know BluePete? Hes at Bournemouth Uni I believe.
