On/Off Power Cold Start?

I've noticed that if I drive my 172 when the engine is cold, maybe only 1 minute after starting that it has a tendancy to accelerate but then back off the power briefly even though my foot has remained in the one position. Do they all do this? It's fine after a minute or two. No other car I've owned did this, ran rough yes, but not on/off acceleration.

I thought that would be the answer but thought I'd double check. Most cars are rough when starting from cold. Cheers

My 54 plate 182 does this from a cold start. It seems to have a mind of its own like Herbie but then sorts itself out after a minute or two.

I noticed that the engine vibrates and jumps alot if revved to 2k and held here while it's in this cold state. Very lumpy. Perfectly smooth after 2-3 minutes.

Yeah i think its in part, down to the fact that the Mk2 172's and 182's run fly by wire throttles.
They aren't brill when the engine is cold. I have the exact same thing with mine....get to fairly low revs in say forth or fifth gear and hold the throttle steady and things get a bit ji ji ji jit jittery until you then give it some beans.
