Onyx or Carbon

So Swissvax Onyx or Zymol Carbon?

I'm torn between the two both get good reviews, some people thing swissvax is better some think zymol is better.

I'd use the HD with the Zymol but is there anything similar for use with the Swissvax.

My Price point is around £50 for the wax itself. This is going on Capsicum Red.

  top of the pyramid
i was in this situation but gone for dodo supernatural, heard good things and dont fancy paying £160 for swissvax best of show.

Decent thread.

Easy answer to the question is Carbon over Onyx all day long mate.

Those 2 are nice middle market waxes. Definitely carbon is the pick of those 2 without spending more.

You would use swissvax cleaner fluid before the application of the onyx ;)...but i would take the zymol over the swissvax, great wax for the moneyz imo

Thanks. I'd seen comments that for the price the Onyx is better all rounder. But tbh I'm just after the deepness, as I've got a sealant which works brilliantly imo.
What do people rate to the Dodo waxes and the Vic's Concourse wax?

Also where is the best place to get Zymol? I know PB do Swissvax, but no where I would usually use sells Zymol. Although I have spotted a few places just wondered if anywhere recommended a place to get it with the HD cleanser.

  Not a 320d
Im with Gally.

Carbon.

Dont expect them to be durable as f**k. But Carbon will last you best part of 2-3 months. Id expect the SW wil be easier to use though, as swissvax waxes usually are a doddle to use.

Glasur is win though. If you can stretch.......Its worth it. I wouldnt go with anything beyond glasur unless I had a lot of money floating about.

Fair enough, Glasur is a bit of a stretch. I'd already bumped my price up from the Dodo waxes to get something a bit different. I'm not overly fussed about durability like I say because I'll be using a sealant as well.

I've found a deal for the Carbon and HD for sub £60 so I'll probably get that.

Expect an update in "what have you ordered" ;)

Forget the HD cleanser mate it's a nightmare to work with! Unless I was using Vintage I wouldn't bother at all.

I'd use Werkstat Prime mate. Very strong durable acrylic base. The wax will last so much longer than usual with a poor base product.

Vics and dodo are fine but they won't feel as special to use as Zymol does.

Bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sample that'll last 10's of layers... http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=216741

£25 for 30-40% of a tub! Bargain. I was going to buy it! Get in there now!

Bargain, Just ran round DW getting my post's up to 10, as I'm more of a lurker!

Would you recommend the prime instead of the HD. I noted Zymol say, if its not treated correctly the effects wont be as good. (Assume this is with any wax though)

As for applicator pads as well what would you use?

For the prime get some Microfibre apps and some foam ones for the wax dude.

Sorted!

Yeah definitely prime or prime strong, use it on glass, lights, door shuts, exhaust, wheels.

Get the prime strong mate. Have a look at my golf thread to see the difference it made to the paintwork mate.

Much better than HDC for ease of use.

Awesome, I already had some microfibre and some foam apps in my basket anyway as I needed some.

I'll just wait for the guy to get back to me on the Zymol, I've seen a full tub for just under £40, so If the guys sold his ill get that, as its still a bargain.

Thanks as always!

It is mate, the Zymol stuff is fantastic to use.

I love my glasur.

Onyx for ease of use, Carbon for everything else.

But being totally honest, I can barely tell the difference between those two and Nattys blue. Except on my bank statement...

Wheres the best place to get the zymol waxes from? Maybe a sample pot.

I think its time for me to join DW and take a look around.

Benefits are just it's stronger and a tad more durable.

Glass, exhausts, lights, shuts. It's just a fantastic all round product. It's still beading on my glass on it's own, weeks ago it was applied.

Use it by hand pre-wax mate. The wax will also last a little longer as it'll have a great base from the prime.

Price tag puts me off. I dont technically "need" it..just want it.
