Opinions/advice sought-"Weekend" car?

  Clio RS 182
Hi guys,

I've recently landed myself a new job and will be using the Clio alot less as I will be commuting by train. Over the last few days I've been discussing my options on which car to go for; originally I was going to sell the Clio and get myself an Elise. Reason for all this is that I will only be using a car on my weekends, so fancied the idea of having a fun "weekend" car to blast around in, I don't need anything practical.

But on the way home tonight I thought, 'why sell the Clio, why not just strip it,lower it,make it faster' etc. I can strip the car out of all its rear seats and interior plastics, slam it on adjustable coilovers and perhaps iTB it/remap etc.

How fun and useable can the Clio be once the above work is carried out?, could it be a serious contender to the Elise as a weekend car? or will I be wasting my time and money?

Opinions needed please:cool:

You'll strip your car, spend money on mods and then one day be sat at the lights.

Some dude will pull up next to you in an Elise/VX220 etc and you'll think ''I should have tried one of those''.

I know, I've been there! lol.

for the money, you cant beat it!! i love my stripped out clio, i commute to college by train and its basically my weekend hack!! sure, at some point youll think, why didnt i get a sensible car, but you might as well make the most of that time you can get away with such an impractical car! im sure a lot of people will look back and regret having sensible cars all their life!

selling up and getting an elise it all well and good, but how much money is that going to cost??

you could probs strip yours to high heaven,
full coilovers/brakes/suspension
and get some buckets seats for the same price as an elise,

plus i find it so night having a project car so rewarding,
