Orbisound race exhaust

That Clio Cup racer makes 180bhp doesnt it? What mods has it got, just a diff filter, ecu, and zorst?

teh exhaust, race cat, magneti marelli ignition control and a simple filter.

and yup, your looking at a nice 900 quid price tag for a steel system....i thikn they are teh nuts though.......

its the nuts cause its a plain pipe, no chrome no fancy stuff, just a pipe that works.

plus it doesnt sound like a broken sub in a nova.
 


yes I run one on my Mk1.

cause Im involved with Cliocup racing in Holland and this exhaust is obsolete I could run it on my car. The orbisound has been exchanged by Laser which make less noise (power) than the orbisound once. Of course I took all bits and pieces with the racecat, K&N filter etc. car has on that moment about 180 Bhp. And than you can modify the ecu and a headconversion. And mine is 212 Bhp at this moment
 


212 Bhp will be -7 % at the wheel which makes around 197 Bhp. I did a headconversion I took the ecu from a cup and modfied the data myself. I did not took the rev. limitter up (no sense anyway) only for 150 Rpm max. I have to run 99 octane in it. But all I can say is to 172 owners is that the airintake temp. is VERY specific. make sure its COOL !! Ive seen a mod. on this site from a guy which made a sort of box for his open airfilter and cooled it. this is what is done in 1600 sport all the time. As well as I did it.



But Dannyboy if you want I can order one for you, as well as all Cliocup spareparts no problem. But one thing Its bloody expensive what they ask in Dieppe at Renault sport and also the costs from Holland to England will not be cheap.
 


the jetex exhausts are poo........i had them send one to me and i was not impressed at all...........it made 2bhp....whoo hoo!

212bhp, was that taken at the boiling point of liquid 02? lol
 


BenR you probably never heared of DTCC (Dutch turingcar) we did run Clios MK2 with 230 Bhp in the cup. They stopped this class in 2002 (started in 2000 till 2002) and the Renault dealerteam had spare heads from Dieppe. Surprise I now own one and its fitted on my streetClio Mk1. I even downgraded the power cause its not fun to drive the car in thick traffic when all power is on.
 


Did you not swap exhausts due to noise regulations, and i have head of the DTCC.

However, i am still not convinced that a flowed head (std is fine an on std cams can run over 215bhp), the main restriction is the std throttle body.

of course I changed the throttle body too. The stock body we use on the cup is restricted as so far we cannot change it (not permitted) the Dtcc however is larger. I am not running this car on the cup (cups are legal), its my streetcar. It looks almost stock only suspension changed (coilovers cup), Pagid Blue pads (cup), orbisound exhaust (cup) ecu, head (Dtcc) and 16"OZ superturismos color is grey. No other sh*ts on the car.

FYI the Throttle body is a modified Dtcc one and yes it is from Dieppe (as almost all stuff comes from) but I thought it has four blots (gonna check it out for ya)

Well power enough, yesterday I was thinking of getting all power out again when I came accross a Opel lotus omega on my way back from the track. he waisted me in fourth, I was doing around 135 in fourth completly in red around 7600 I went over and he passed me if I was not there.....



So no power enough I guess.

wow guys we discuss different cars..... this vehicle has around 370 bhp its called a opel lotus omega. they only produced 1000 of them I read somewhere. The only thing I saw was the big lotus sign on the back !
 


Yeh its the same car - Opel being the European Branch of GM...

Its a 3.6 ltr Straight 6 derived from the 3000GSI which Lotus Extensivly modified with forced induction. Standard ones are good for about 170ish Mph on the Autobahn.

Its pretty much the only Vauxhall/Opel I would want to own/drive!

Dont u just love cars of the 80s?? :D
