Orbital polisher -broken ?

  BMW M3
Hi guys,

Never written in this section... yay!

Anyway, ive got one of these orbital polisher but always hand polish as im sure its dodgy.

When its going it shakes really violently and i struggle to hold the thing. And when i tried it out on an old crappy car.... it cracked the paint ! (car was 18 years old though)

The thing is though that its never been used am not sure where it was bought from.

Do you think it could be bust ?

Its not going anywhere near the 182 before i know its safe.

Thanks

if it only goes in 1 direction it will do more damage than good.

rotary's like the PC go dont actually turn iirc... they just go back and forth

I thought they did turn but were off center? But aye £15 polisher from halfrauds will do more harm than good.

You sure Dan, The PC does rotate just in an orbital action!

nope, im not sure at all....

but what i said sounded good at the time
your thinking of the sanders used for bodywork, they spin if they are free from the surface, but shake if against it.. if you grabbed the rotating disk and turned it on. you will be able to hold it easily..

d.a sander
