Oreca 6 point cage

It was the bottom Oreca one I was looking at. Cheap and cheerful and I can get it welded and painted for beer money.

I wanted to know if the door bars would clear the trim. I don't mind cutting the dash as I've had a 'dash-dodger' cage before and it was a pain having to remove it to get the dash out.

I wouldn't want to lose the headlining either.

Because I'd only be using it for trackdays and nothing serious I was going to modify the rear stays to the turrets to make them removable too.

The other option is to get the custom cages 'club' cage and make some for bars for it to fit around the trim.

Edit: Cub, PM me about brakes anytime!

Custom cages cage is extremely close fitting in certain areas Tom, so you will have to modify certain trim and almost definitely remove the headlining.

The Oreca one looks close in places too. The light in the roof would have to go as well as the grab handles but not too bothered about them.

I don't want to lose plastic trim and seatbelts.

I was looking at the CL3 one on here. I'd add door bars to it. http://www.customcages.co.uk/roll-cages/clubman-rollcages

Might have to go down the Caged or Safety Devices route. Or perhaps a custom one.

The Caged one fits with everything still in place, including door trims, headlining and seatbelts (might need to check belts) etc. The only thing you lose is the sun visors.

Unless you have wide buckets (I've got Sparco Evo 3's) and then you can't fit the door bars. Normal sized buckets and you're fine. Have a look at the pics in my project thread if it helps, and I can take more of certain areas if you need them. :)

custom cages one will 100% require the removal of the seatbelts up front as the roll over hoop sits right in front of their location.

I've got the 'Race' version in mine (full weld in). The fitter said it was a great fit. The difference between it and an OMP one I had was night and day. You do have to remove door cards and cut the dash though, but it's a proper piece of kit.

I don't mind removing door cards to get the door bars in when I need them and I'd rather cut the dash to have the cage behind it.

I just can't do without seatbelts.

The Safety Devices one is perfect except it's a dash dodger. But I know you can keep all the trim.

Yeah it's no bother for me as I run harnesses, but we had to add the two harness bars in. I'm not a big fan of dash dodgers - seems a bit comprimised for me.

I have the same one as Jon r with a fair few mods. You have little to no hope of keeping anything interior wise if the '6 point' has the same roll hoop as the 'race cage'. I even had to remove the white plastic mounts for the grab handle and door card support as that fouled the door 'x' too. They are a really tight fitting cage, the best I have seen on a Clio. You can bridge the 'a' and 'b' pillars with weld from the cage to the car when fitted.

SD one is a nice bit of kit and an easy fit and remove job. I would find a cage with a loose fitting main hoop and everything can be changed from there to suit. OMP sell all their hardware to have removable bars so buy a basic cage and spec it up.

edit: If you buy an Oreca, make sure its from Oreca and not got K tax on top.
