OSF cv boot replacement on a ph1 172,


I have a cv boot to change,

1. how is the shaft attached to the gearbox(torx) or (push fit)

2. will i loose gearbox oil,

3. how does the cv joint come away is it a snap ring or a circlip ?

I was reading through the CV threads yesterday but can't remember much....

1. think it's a push fit, on all the threads I read I never noticed anyone mentioning a torx connection.

2. Depends which side of the car, one you could the other you won't but can't remember which way round they go.

3. think circlip - apparently they're complete toss and you're better off with a jubilee clip.

Anyways, thats what I remember from late night browsing. Sure someone more helpful will be along soon.
