Ouch cam and follower eaten.

Only one lobe and follower have been affected......customer had a light ticking noise:S.
Doesn't look as though its run low on oil.
Anyone else had the same?

I wondered if the case hardening had broken down on the roller and taken the cam with it.

Yeah. It didn't look like it had been spat as the damage is literally to the roller and cam lobe.

Thing your going to have to chalk this up as #BecauseRenault. Haha

Had this problem with a punto gt engine years back, never knew why, but it was a good excuse to drop a cam in there

Seen it on a k4m+ on the roller on the cam not the rocker but did the same thing by the looks of that rocker

I've seen exactly that wear, but across all lobes and rockers on several engines. full on oil pump failure in all cases
