Oulton Park - 1st September 2010

I think everyone who came will agree the weather was great yesterday and everyone got away without any major issues. Myself, Whiteley, ROB91, Jamie Rigby, AdamAnderton, Jams, Ian_S, andyhunt and Superbenj88 were all out on track. Quite a few of us were getting photos etc and im sure they will post them in here when they get round to it...

The track was really quiet which meant a lot of track time, and not many closures. Unfortunately a Britcar Seat had a major crash on the exit of Cascades, but that was the only major incident - the others were just off's (Including myself exploring some gravel) and breakdowns...

Made short work of those 172's at the start. Fast little fucker! That white Mk1 didn't seem to want to move.. and was than an R8 you tore past?

Those guys are always laughable. There was a fella in an ultima getting passed by every man and his dog at donington.

LOL. Playing with each other perhaps? Traffic holding both cars up? Pushing one another to the point of going in the gravel?

We've got that sequence from both cars, will no doubt post later on :)

My Lid woop, twas awesome at Oulton with great passenger rides thanks to the boys.

ldw182 seems your mate wasted his money ;) Oh ill add his mate in the Y reg ph1 172 cant drive for s**t he also needs to listen in the drivers brief.

No they dont, mines alright!

My RS hasn't given hardly any trouble since I bought it back in 07!

The guy is probably running a GT28 turbo, 650cc injectors, unichip blitz boost controller, Air to Air, 4-1 manifold, decat, exhaust, Group A induction

Im going for 400 soon

I was referring to Mk1 Clios as 172Ben was, lol ;)

Couple of videos here from when f0xy and I were out playing. First is from his car with me infront to begin with, then I let him past half way through. 2nd video is from my car over the same period :)


Behind Whiteley in the White Mk1 Clio for a few laps. The video swaps at 5:32 as I get held up and he gets too far ahead. After a few more laps Whiteley lets me past, which is where the video resumes.

We had been out for some time and the R888s felt like they were getting worse on every corner, probably got them too hot - It eventually resulted in me locking up and coming off at Cascades (8:25).

Both cars are near enough the same specification (Mk1 Clio, 2.0 16v (F4R), Full Cage, Coilovers, Single Seat, 172 Brakes, etc). The only difference being Whiteley was using Slicks and I was on 205/50 R888s.

How long do they last?

I bought them and they were 1mm above being not road legal, the lad had taken them off because they were getting close. Ive done Rockingham, Cadwell, Mallory and Oulton on them and they have barely gone down. They are still JUST above the wear indicators for being road legal, could probably drive on them - so they have got plenty left. Its probably partially down to Rockingham being wet and Mallory being damp, but apart from that they have lasted well so far...

Great vid's, shame I could not make it, power steering pipe union leaking on mine, and I did not have the part to repair it, you lads just keep getting faster and faster, nice driving.
