I bought a pipercross induction kit for my 172. After everyone saying that it would loose power i wasnt really that fussed as im not racing around, i just wanted a little bit of induction noise. well...travelling on the motorway was a pain in the arse so its gone. But i bought it for £35 and sold it for £35 quid. and while it was out i thought i would give the engine bay a little TLC as it wasnt looking all that happy!
This is what i was working with!
I set up a little spray area in the nice warm shed,
The cover was wet and dried, then had a couple of coats of primer and then many coats of paint and clear coat.
(sanded)
The 'RenaultSport' was also polished up to give it some sort of presence.
The cover was then refitted and now im just waiting for my stickers. I didnt want anything in your face, just to know that it was looking clean and half respectable. Pretty happy as it was the first time with anything like this.
Also does anybody have any good technices for cleaning the real stubborn dirt and grime of the engine, like black spots. I have used motorcycle cleaner which is good for general cleaning but even autosol wont get rid of it.
Cheers
