Outlook 07 - Crypt.dll

  Der Panzer
No amount of uninstalling and reinstalling solves this issue. Google is w**k.

Ideas?

Running XP SP2.

Well I have no experience with your crypt error, but you can configure outlook

without starting it first. Use the following steps:

start --> settings --> control panel --> e-mail

You can configure accounts, manage profiles and set data files. This might solve your problem.

The user account may be corrupted. Try making a new user and opening Outlook through that account.

Thanks guys, I was able to go into the mail setup within control panel and delete the user profile. This resolved the problem.

Description of crypt.dll
This is a component of Music Match. This jukebox software manages and plays your music. It also lets you create and rip CDs, and create playlists.

I'd suggest removing Musicmatch (if it's installed) if you cannot get it working. Or delete the .dll using CMD/Safe Mode.

crypt.dll and crypt32.dll are very different.

Andy, outlook 2007 with this dll error suggests corruption within outlook profile.

However, try a repair on the PST file first
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA010563001033.aspx

Then try outlook. Failing that, backup your settings for outlook, then create a new profile and import the pst from there. Should solve the problem.

Also - you dont have any add-ins for outlook do you? Or toolbars installed, this could also cause the problem.
