Outlook Query

at work we use outlook 2010 what i want to be able to do is add a note to an email so i know where ive got to with it.

so say i hover over the email its brings up a simple note ive written

or like a column where ive written and a note and its gets displayed.

is there anyway of doing thsi in outlook.

i just want the email to stay in the inbox but me to add a note or some comments so i know where i am.

it must be possible its not a big ask from outlook

Ok, good luck. From what you are describing you want to create a work item on emails. That's what tasks are for. AFAIK there is no way to add a note to a mail item. You can add flags and reminders etc. but it doesn't sound like these will be suitable either.

just been playing round with this.

so i added a custom flag fine, but then i cant find a way to display the custom txt i wrote or even view it
