Outside temp and heater problem

  phase 2 172
Hi,

recently bought a 172 facelift model. Seems there is an issue with the outside temperature sensor and the interior heater.

The temp reads 36 (i live in edinburgh and it winter so this is clearly wrong) and i get no heat out my heaters.

Are these two things related?

And any ideas how to fix it.

Cheers in advance

The outside temperature sensor is located in the near side wing mirror, & wont be related to you not having any cabin heat.
When the cars running, & up to temp, check the two hoses leading into the bulkhead under the bonnet, if there nice & hot usually means you have nice hot water circulating round the heater matrix. If ones hot, & the other cold, there is a problem, & the coolant isnt circulating. Does your temp gauge read okay? When you say no heat.....do you mean the heater blowers running & its just cold air coming out? or no heater blower at all?

Hi, first off thanks for the reply.

the engine temp reads ok, and yeah, when i say no heat the blowers are only supplying cold air, even when set to max.

Will check the pipes next time i am out in the car.

Thanks
