**Over Reving/Under Accelerating**

In the last couple of days my car has started playing up, if i accelerate gentley then everything is ok, but if i attempt to accelerate quickly then the revs go straight up but the car accelerates slowly and even though i havent lifted my foot off the accelerator the revs start to drop to match the acceleration.

Anyone any idea's? with my limited knowledge i thought it may be something to do with a blowing exhaust?

From my limited undertstanding of mechanics it sounds like your clutch is knackered. It's slipping under full load, so must be worn out

Maybe not new clutch time, take it to a garage and ask them to adjust it for you, drive it again and see if that solves it.

I know people who have changed there clutch when its only been half worn and once its out, theres no point in putting it back in + you still get charged the same amount.

Ive just been told that Mk1 Ph3 are self adjusting clutches so if its slipping then it needs replacing?

Can anyone confirm this?
