overheating now n then

I also have a 1999 fiesta and it randomly overheats, one thing iv noticed when it does overheat is the fans even on full blast on the red will come out cold. Any ideas>?

Thermostat knackered?

may be the system's sludged up and blocking flow to the heater matrix?

may as well start by flushing it through and renewing the coolant - cheapest first option

Problem dissapeared and now its back, water starts to boil up in the tank when it overheats and the pipes are hot as.

Water pump maybe?

i'd take it to a garage for a diagnosis mate - sooner rather than later otherwise you risk the head gasket and warping the head
