Overheating

Just after some info please. Ive not long bought a clio 16v which has a tendancy to get very hot, very quickly. It seems that if I sit in traffic for more than five minutes the fan comes on as the temprature gauge is nearly at the top.

Is this normal or do I need to start investigating, water level is to the max so thats one thing its not.

I doubt this is normal behaviour.. yes if you car is sitting in traffic a long time, but only 5 minutes..

I guess you start with water pump and work your way from there.

very not normal

rodda99

mine use to do this when i first bought it but ive sorted it now, ine runs at 1/4 when driving normally and peaks at 1/2 when the fan always cuts in and never hotter

cost u a little bit of time to do but a cool running valver is much better

anyway

flush out the rad and engine from the yrs of brown gunk that prob circulating the engine cooling system
get ya self a 82 oC thermo stat low temo one OE is 89oC
r5 turbo low temp fan switch
and some summer coolant from halford
i did all this and my valver runs very cool and i never have to worry about the tem rising sky high
