Mwuahahaha! No mate - panel by panel when i can. done the bonnet, tailgate and front wings.

the pc is no magic wand unfortunately - i am being really cautious and taking my time - the results are amazing though. Will probably get quicker as i get more cars under the belt. gonna tackle the missus puma next. its in typical 'birds car' condition!

can someone go through what is involed in a PC polish? and what sort of equipment is needed?

Thanks

Paul

A PC (porter cable) which is a random orbit polisher (its a brand there are others on the market that do the same but price and quality varies) a combination of cutting and buffing pads and a couple of different polish, sealant, wax's depending on what you are hoping to achieve. You can use it to apply waxes, sealants or use a cutting polish to remove marks and swirls. You wash and clay the car 1st and then depending on the condition of the paint either just apply a wax or sealant or use a polish to remove marks and then apply the wax/sealant on after.

Cheers Loony. are there any that you would reccomend and what sort of prices are we looking at??

thanks

I've got the PC as it seems to be a favourite amongst detailers and wasnt too pricey. you're looking at a couple of hundred to get one and a transformer etc but that wont include any waxes/polishes.

I have got the moneys worth out of mine, highly recommended. Your car will look better for it.

Are there any cheaper alternatives to the pc polisher that are any good , just for the occasional polish as it seems alot of money for somebody who is only gonna polish it a couple of times a year . Anybody got any recommendations ?

MrBillyUK !

If you want to do it on the cheap its probably just as well to get one of the guys on here to do it once or twice a year if you'll use it that infrequently and then inbetween just apply wax by hand.

Depending on where you are Brazo and r-jay do a top bollock job and wont be too expensive compared to a pro or bodyshop doing it.
