What mods have you got paddy as Ive heard your 172s pretty quick. Some people I know who have modded their 172s reckon they have lost power so I was trying to find out what mods do work on 172s
Exactly! Paddy has none! says it all really! neither does mine! well no engine mods anyway. (oh except for a green replacement element) but that was installed after my RR
Its just I kinda miss the throaty noise my XR2i made with the magnex (maybe not quite so loud) but if Im going to lose power then Id rather keep it standard.
i have a zorst viper and it gets a remap on wed so i will see what im pushing out then been told epect good results, a unichip is so much better then a superchip, the bloke said he could do a few extras so have to wait to see what he means by that, i find my car quick and it will be very quick
hi mate, yeah car is totally standard! 1/4 mile was 14.9 (rear seat out), but that was my first go so im sure i can do quicker. really am dubious about modding as it seems to make it worse for some reason?!! i leathered it from day one as well, not sure if that helped?
thats good to know cause I didnt exactly run mine in properly....just done about 1100 miles now and had the oil replaced for mobile 1, Definately feels a lot smoother and I think it sounds nicer IMO.
Ill have to get it out on the strip and see how quick it is.
best mods are suspension and brake ones, at least then out on the road the difference can be felt. Lets face it, as we have all seen, a couple of extra ponies makes very little difference. Making your car handle and stop better can make those little races far more fun!
Just my humble opinion, oh, and reduce the weight of the car helps alot, as most Cup owners will remind us
