I think you attach far too much value to the "cup" thing TBH, it was a lightly modded version with half the best bits missing to keep the cost down, its not even a trophy which are the only ones that will ever be worth much.

Seriously mate what is actually better on a cup?
Wishbones which are easily changed, holes slightly further out on the subframe, and some slightly uprated dampers that most people have on non cups now anyway and some pretty wheels that loads of people have on non cups, dont get me wrong I really like them im not slagging it off, but its not a classic car and even in 10 years its not going to be worth fortunes so just use it and enjoy it!

I'm not saying they are worth much as I know they arn't. But in my mind they are the "different" one. The one you don't see as much off if that make sense. I always see normal 172/182 on the road but I've only ever seen one other Cup on the road.

Oi chip you leave us cup boys alone lol

But seriously I do get both your points. The cup is ideal to track, but like Chris I have the same problem of being worried I will come off and damage it. And to be fair Chris' did look rather mint.

How did you find the fast cut Chris?

haha dw mate, me and chip go way back...

As for the fast cut it worked well....got rid of a few minor swearls. I think the trick is to wait for the compound to get broken down then keep going abit more for it to work its magic. Before I was stopping once I couldn't see anymore compound or it was wearing thin

Yeah I remember you saying last night.

How many passes did it take to break down? Did you draw the line on the backing plate? Pictures look good

lol I vaigly remeber...Jesus, that was ages ago now. Where has the time gone.

I think you are more than correct with the clio being more fun, but maybe a Z4M...now that would be a different story maybe?

Z4m is an epic car, but proper expensive to run and my issue with cars like that is that on the road if you try and enjoy it you end up speeding so much you get horrific numbers of points or bans, and its too much money to lob round a track, so you end up with an epically capable car, but nowhere to really use it properly.
With a clio all you need is a decent b road to have a lot of fun and a trackday even more so.
