Paint marks on engine? Due yo belt change....?

Ive notices an X marked on my engine and sure this is to do with belt change however, i bought my car 2 year ago on 24k and sure belts have never bewn changed? The car would of only been 3 year old and was bought at a renault dealer...

It engine is idividually built at dieppe, itl only be on renaultsport models too, got mine at 33,000 and it had White n yellow splodges in the engine bay

Engines are not built at Dieppe, well there not on the 200s, so assume the 182s where the same.

It's a quality check (lol) the factory workers will mark parts as parts of the checks.

Was it just cup engines at dieppe? Got a french car mag somewhere with the pics of them being built there

If thats the mag i'm thiking about i'm in it ;)

They attach the gear boxs, loom (I think) driveshafts etc, but the engines are built somewhere else, there was pallets of them in the factory.

I can't believe I never met you on that trip.

Possibly because I was drunk for 80% of the trip...
 
Breakers yards use the yellow paint to mark parts of an engine that shouldn't be split - more than likely a second hand engine :quiet:;)
