I doubt it will end up perfect in my experience hun.

When i got some monaco blue i was told there was 2 variations, but each had a year to it so i was able to get the correct match.

Lots of colours have many different shades, mine has 3 on some paint schemes, other colours like Milano Red on Hondas have 10 +. It's up to the bodyshop to pick the correct one and apply it properly to get the best result. It's nothing to worry about how many shades there are of your car's colour as long as you pay the cash to get it done properly.

any good paint sprayer H will do that for ya no problemo.........look at middos for EG, that sen more paint than van gough.

yellow is a pain, you have to get the base coat spot on or under street light you see the panel differences, easiest way is to blend into the surrounding panels but cossts a bit more but a better finish :)

+1 I hate yellow coverage is a pain in the arse grrrrr at yellow.

Oh and hayley, no you wont end up with a patchy car, The painter will use a colour chat to check the colour at first see which is the better match from the variants. He will then happliy mix a small amount of paint and do a spray out which he will then match upto the panel and see if this matches.

Depending on whats being painted he or she will either blend out into the other panel or panels. Now all this goes tits up if the car has been painted previously. Be glad its not a silver :D

+1 I alwasy estimate for blending adjacent panels or explain to the customer we will polish the non painted panels up but it will probably never be 100% perfect.
The unpainted panels might have had years of sun exposure ect...

A newly painted panel is never going to look the exact same as the old one, I would call this common sense.

Ahh so this explains the exhaust thread, wondered what you were up to! I was told that Pearl Black was one of only a few colours that could be matched perfectly every time. Yellow always seems to be a pain to match up, but it sounds like Rexe's your man on this one. :)

When I got my parts sprayed, they were slightly a different colour to the rest of the car, but that was only because the paint had faded and this one was new. It's fine after a good polish!
