Paint Prep Choice

im wondering what to use for my paint prep now the weather is getting a bit better

the paint is only a year old so i dont want anything too abrasive, but at the same time i dont think i want just a chemical cleaner, i was thinking of maybe something like AGSR as thats very mildly abrasive

whats your suggestions, Meguiars Step 1 maybe?......

whatever it is, it MUST be easy on/off and not leave streaks in the paint, i just need something fairly light as a base for my #7/NXT/Collinite

Step 1 is Chemical cleaning only, I would go with the SRP or maybe Clearkote Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze, you could skip the #7 cut down on steps if you used the Clearkote to.

i do like Clearkote products so i might give it a go

is the SSR1 a lot easier to work with than 2.5, the 2.5 i had was pretty much PC only, no use by hand

SSR1 works okay by hand as it is mild, so no harsh abrassives to remove like the 2.5, not as easy off as VM or AIO though.

crap, ive just realised ive already got some of this !

i didnt realise it was a paint cleaner though, thought it was just a glaze type product

is SSR1 anything at all like T-Cut, as i dont want anything that strong, just something with about the same abrasives as AGSRP

or Klasse AIO ?

VM is a mild cleaner and glaze it does both.

SSR 1 is nothing like T-cut, will have more abbrassives then SRP though.

P21s is alike to the VM, cleans and glazes, not as oily as VM when applied though.

AIO cleans paint and protects, does not fill and glaze, and leaves the surface perfect for sealants

I would use the VM still out of the above.

right, ill stick with the VM, ive changed my order to 2 Sonus green clay bars instead, ill use those then the VM, then whichever product takes my fancy, possibly #21
