Painting airbag

Ive just picked up a retrimmed steering wheel and my airbag really let's it down. Is it ok to pick up a can interior spray paint a give the airbag a coat?

I think he does

You would probably be better glueing leather to the airbag cover mate

Would be an exact match that way

yeah, i was on about the cover.

ive seen on ebay you can get interior spray paint in matt black, or the other option is trying plastidip stuff. but im sure on the finish leaves.

i think covering it in leather would be a bit tricky as you've got the diamond in the centre

Covering in leather wouldn't be safe. It could prevent the air bag from deploying, as it physically breaks through the wheel centre (IIRC)

Leather wouldn't be a good idea.

Unsure how well it'll come out after painting too.

Assume you have tried cleaning it well?

yeah, the airbag is a dark navy and steering wheel is black

ill try painting first, you can pick up airbags quite cheap

can see the difference
