Painting Engine cover.

  Bumder With A Buffer
Am looking at painting my engine cover soon as its looking abit worse for wear and could do with sprucing up.

Question is how have people managed to put/keep the 2.0L 16Vpart on the Oil cover part?

Painted it or are they stickers??

Also whilst Im here might as well ask the best way to clean up the engine itself? Noticed some are almost chrome looking...

They do actually do Monaco Blue in my branch of Halfords but iirc the only close Renault paint match is Pearl Black... Primer and Lacquer is a decent price in there though :)

do you just remove it and spray it using normal methods with normal paint?

thought it'd need to be extremely heat resistant and etc??

tbh the cover doesnt really get that dam hot if you think about it,i wet n dryed mine with 800 primed it with 2 coatsor yellow prime wet n dryed that down with 1500 then put a base coat on as the liquid yellow is thin, the 2 coats of the yellow then 3 coats of laquer joby done

I know someone who sparyed his Honda rocker cover with regular paint, hes a sprayer for a living and always said itl be fine, 6 months later its not peeling or anything yet.
