Painting Rocker Cover



  172 Cup


would it be ok to paint my rocker cover with normal paint instead of hightemp paint? on a mk1 clio 16v

u could try but if it cracks itll look sh*t and ull av to do it all over again

might as well get the high temp stuff first time round

i have had one polished but i fancy one painted now. i was goona paint it monaco or 449 blue.

Ive got mine painted in 449 by the previous owner. looked good when i bought the car but now looks a bit old. paint has deteriorated badly. Dont know if you could laquer it with something to protect it from the heat. Rocker cover gets very hot!
 


I did mine with engine enamel which cost less than a fiver, bakes on for a tough finish, although needs carefull application for a smooth finish, although u can imrove it using a bodywork cutting compound or even tcut

You can use 449 then put a high temp lacquer over the top. Or just get normal high temp paint. Just dont use exhaust high-temp paint cos thats overkill. Plus it only comes in red, silver or black anyway lol
