Panel with no airbox

  Clio Dynamique 1.4 16V
I am thinking of fitting a panel filter to my 1.4 16V. what is the best panel for this? i am thinking of the green cotton from k-tec.

Was also wondering if there was any gain in removing the airbox and running a cold feed straight to the panel?

There are no gains fitting an aftermarket even with a cold feed pipe. The current box and cold feeds are better than any bolt on aftermarket setup.

have to disagree there, the ph2 air box isnt a great design, esp on the 172's, hence why people fit the ph1 or espace v6 airbox

dont remove the airbox as then the panel filter will have no where to fit lol, fit a panel, will make a small improvement, not really noticable though

On the 1.4 16V the filter is near the throttle body and there is an air box half way between the filter and the front of the car behind the headlight.

Found this pic of the engine. The back bit on the right of the engine comes away from the filter, the filter is at the back just left of the header tank.

Previous car was same as yours and i fitted a panel filter, K&Ns are the best i reckon, but didnt make any performance difference, just better pick up.
Standard airbox runs a cold air feed from behind the nearside headlight anyway.
