Part No for Heatsheild on Valver

  Willy2

its a bugger to fit and you can only get to the top bolts and the bottom one is really hard to get to. enjoy

Thats why i aint changed mine yet !!

Fecking a complete b*****d to get to !! Maybe a small child wedged under the car might be able to reach up and get to that bottom nut !!

Now theres an idea !!!

do u think my valver will be ok with no heatshield , well i drove 350 miles up north to Boro a few weeks ago and ive been driving it for ages with no shield , whats your opinions ?

its there to protec yer bulkhead and master cylinder/brake fluid.....

Im going to fit one this weekend, if i find it easy, then ill do it for people at the nxt meet for bacon butties and powerade!!! lol

My heatsheild went way of the dodo over a year ago, hasnt given any problems, heat shouldnt really get to brake lines and fluid too much, given they get pretty damn hot anyway, do you all reckon its worth getting a new one just to avoid any future hassles, do the fuel lines come up at the bulkhead

no, but yer master cylinder is sitting right nxt to it........

and the brake fuid/MS shouldnt be hot anyway.

actually, even the fuid inside is rusty red free!!!!

must of taken ages to flush that crap out the coolant system!

Come on BenJ - there has to be some secret tuning under that bonnet of yours! Isnt a bit suspicious that your car was making about 10bhp more ATW than most 16vs on the day and was only 1bhp ATW behind mine???

Even AaronCs made about 10bhp less ATW than yours (admittedly at a different RR).

That is, of course, unless Renault just made the odd belter for a laugh??!:D

yea........whats up with your car?

and Aarons!

might aswell forget tunning, just buy one, test it....if its crap, sell it and buy another till you get to a belter. lol

Just think how good yours would go if you did some work....or alternatively, maybe its a oddly torqued bolt....and if you take it apart, then youll loose all that power and be a normal valver.....dum dum dum...is the risk worth it! lol

when u fit it they give you two special nuts, they are hollow, i got to one quite easily and tightened it as much as the socket would allow, the second was a bugger to do so i left it and forget the third not unless you got a specialist tool or your taking the engine out, but with the one its not flappin or loose or anything. My old heatshield was fecked, it looked like it had been screwed up and then straightened again! It was also made of an asbestos type material, this new one .is a very solid non crushable type
