Part Xchange Quote

  RS Clio 182

I have been given a part exchange quote of £6000 for a 9 month old 52 plate 1.2 16v Extreme with 9000 miles on the clock. The car has the full Renault bodykit and painted spoiler. What do you guys think of this?

Cheers

rough guide:

when i wrote off my first dynamique after 1 year it got valued at £6450 thats top book for a year old one irrespective of mileage

Was Quoted £5500 for my black dci dynamique against a new Cup. However friend fancies the car - 65mpg after all - and offered £6250. Its done 25000 miles and on 51 plate. Im fairly happy with that, as it seems to be roughly its value.

I have just been offered £9500 for my 6 month old cup with 19,000 on the clock, so that is pretty good.

In comparison, i was offered £6500 for my 1.2 extreme 02 plate, had done 8k. I think you can get better than that, hold out for at least £6500.

Im afraid that bodykits and the like wont add any value in trade circles. Seems like a reasonable price to me, given that its trade.

You could try advertising privately for a few weeks and see what deal you could get for cash on a new car. Even if the car doesnt sell privately, youve only lost a few weeks of your time and you might have sold the old car for a lot more money.

The quote was against an iceberg silver 172 at £12500. Sounds pretty good but was really hoping for nearer the £7000 mark. I know the bodykit doesnt add any value to the car but it does make it easier to sell on and more attractive. Cheers for the thoughts though.

£12500??? Whats the year? mileage? You can get them cheaper. I only paid £10500 for mine, 02, 15k with full sat nav.

If you go through a reanult dealer they stick a grand on for good measure!! Nice fat commission for some sleazey sales rep.

Crikey! All those miles in 6 months? That is over 100 miles every day! It has taken me since January 2002 to do 4,000 miles in my 172

;)

£12500 sounds an average price for a brand new 172, you dont get cheaper than £11995, and even then they are usually imports.

£12500 sounds good for a uk supplied, is that a renault dealer??? If so then the Px price doesnt seem bad as you got a substantial discount on list. I bet if you went to motorpoint and got an import they wouldnt be able to match that deal. I have no regrets in paying a little extra for a uk supplied one and it will keep the extra money that you pay.
