PAS pump replacement

I have had a few pas pumps so have found the following when they go:

1) mid to high rpm - pump whines when you add some steering lock in e.g. going round a roundabout.
2) full lock on stationary will screech
3) Notchy ; heavy steering.

Yep that's how mine sounded before replacement. In fact it was whining from the moment you started the engine and never stopped. It got a lot worse when turning lock to lock. It doesn't do that now... there's just a whine on starting for about 30s and then it disappears.
