Pas switch, what's it do?

As in the title, there's a switch on the high pressure pas line, what does it do and can I get rid of it and link out the wiring (if it does anything) as I need to replace that part of the pipe, cheers

From what I can tell in the manual it adjusts the revs of the engine when loaded, anyone confirm that's it's only job?

Raises idle when on full lock to prevent stalling.

Ok to have it disconnected
