Pass Plus Question

Ive heard from a few people that insurance companies will insure you as a pass plus driver, providing you pass it withing like 7 weeks of taking up the policy. anyone got any more info on this? as it saves waiting around for 3 or so weeks for pass plus to come back 9when i can actually drive in the first place)

cheers

I did my Pass Plus yesterday (3moths after passing my test) - Ive still got to ring my insurance company so ill let you know what they say!

carl.

cheers

i was under the impression (from what ive been told) that i could start paying the rate i would if i HAD completed pass plus, then just inform them so long as i do it within that certain time frame.
and if you dont do it within the time frame you have to pay the extra rate for not having pass plus.

will be interesting to see what you say :)

anyone can do a pass plus, but for insurance purposes its better to do the pass plus soon after passing ur test. Dont know if it makes MUCH difference though???? my dad would know (driving instrctor!!)

My cover is with CIS (who give an introductory 25% discount to there customers when they take out a premium)

Just rang them and they said:

The premium wont be altered this year but then when i take out next years premium i will receive a discount of 35%

id say your best bet will be to ring your insurance company and ask what the best thing to do is!

Hope it helps mate

Carl.

I didnt do it - I just wanted to start driving on my own, heh.

Anyway, people who did it - some people said it saved them 50% on insurance? Like, £1200 without.. £600 with.. dunno how true that is tho.. seems pretty good.. and basically, all it is.. is a bit more experience on the road.. 50% is more than 1 years NCD.. which dont make sense.

Ring up for a quote and just ask them if it would make any difference.
