Passenger seat buckle rattle

Hi everyone, silly complaint here but my passenger seatbelt buckle rattles constantly against the door pillar when Im not carrying a passenger, i.e. seatbelt isnt clipped in. And because 95% of the time Im in the car by myself, its becoming a right pain.

Has anyone a solution to this cos its doing my nut in. At the moment I drive with the passenger belt clipped in even when Ive not got a passenger, but this looks untidy!

Cheers!

doublesided tape and some matching fabric.

cut a patch and stick it on the area the part is vibrating against.

Or get a sticky hook and hook the belt down.

Cant say Ive had this problem with mine, you sure the buckle hasnt become twisted round to the wrong side?

Yep, definately not twisted. It just seems that theres not a lot of space between the seat and the door pillar (Ive tried it with the seat at various positions) - the seatbelt moves between the edge of the seat and the door pillar.

Id imagine one of those chav seatbelt covers would do the trick but I wont be seen dead with one of them in my car!

Mine does this as well. Might give what Tom suggested a whirl. I know what you mean, it can be very annoying.

Mike, fold the belt at 90 degrees to itself then put the buckle over this area, so that youre untwisting the belt gradually. Et voila. I became an expert at that in my first car - my mum just had a great knack at twisting the drivers belt.

/ Back on topic!

Ive got a big wad of soundproofing felt so Ill away and try something tonight involving sticking and velcro. Im on a mission to reduce the rattles in the car!

LOL just seen the message in your avater - have you heard of Muiravonside Country Park near Linlithgow? Apparently its even got its own website... so Ive heard.
