Pc Graphics Question

Probably a stupid question but hey ho!

i have a newish nvidia mobo that has a HDMI output. connected to the mobo is a 8800GT graphics card, If i were to plug the pc into my tv using HDMI would the graphics be sh!t because its using the mobo's onboard graphics or would the pc still reconise the card and use it?

  Better than yours. C*nt.
It probably wouldn't work because the onboard stuff would be turned off by plugging the card in.

i have a nvidia 9600 GT that has a HDMI port - i find that VGA to VGA (i have one on my tele) is considerabley better quality than HDMI is.

It all depends on the mobo really. We've got a few at work that in the BIOS allows you to enable both onboard and an additional card. We use it to have dual monitors supported on one desk, while the onboard graphics runs a signal to a 40" plasma nearby.

Granted, most do appear to be one or the other though.
