Just called up my local tunning garage for some quotes...

Decat = £50 + fitting (he reccommend a "performance decat" due to it doesnt need removing when MOT is due and fits alot better, said the other ones are rubbish and if i get stopped for a emission test by the police (didnt no they done this) i could get in a lot of trouble. Then again he would say that quoting me "£380"!!!

Cams = £470

Ecu/remap = £300 for standard £400 for custom...

also i need a new ECU cover due to mine has broken, he quoted me £20-£25..


What do people think?

Im not a tuning boffin but i dont think i would ever get a proper decat just get a sports cat..

the performance decat is a sports cat. its kind of a half way house between decat and cat.

£470 for the cams I presume is supply only? if thats fitted rip his arm off

Ye £380... over £50... i think alot of people would chose £50 haha...

He didnt tell me the exact cams, i gave him details of my car and he gave me quotes....

When i said about remap i said about rs tunner... he said that isnt as good as his...

£380 is the right price for a sports cat which is, i think, what he meant.

Get more info on the cams, i would say thats not fitted though.

He is going to say his maps better, he is trying to sell it to you

sports cats only have a short life of about 12 months or so. i'd go for a decat and just hope you don't get pulled. on other forums there a lots of complaints of sports cats not lasting long
