It is rare mate. 29 ever spec'd to have the Paint. Even less (i think) with the Cup Packs.
As for finding one for sale i remember a time when you never saw one for sale and then in the past 3-4 years they have been coming up either on here or ebay occasionally. Now iv got mine it is slowly being turned in to a mint example and i hope i can keep it for a fair few years too come. I would like to be able to take it too car shows in 10 years time and it still be enthusiasts talking point.
Pretty much everyone i meet (CS included) ask if its an original colour and if it came out the factory like it. Yesterday i had some chap in a Fiesta ST chase me round a roundabout too Halfords just to have a chat about the paint!
I think you have the same plan as me but the right car for the job. My titanium car is not special enough and I found my 36k trophy too nice to put miles on.
I will keep an eye out for another. This one looked standard right down to the exhausts. No cup spoiler. I should have pulled over when he stopped to get fuel but I had both kids in the car and didn't want to be called a 'wierdo' by my 5year old boy.
Had I known it was that rare I would have stopped.
I went and saw the one on eBay today. The colour really is fantastic. It was sunny and the car was clean. The paint has gold in it which really pops out.
Regrettably the car was not for me. It has too many mechanical issues which would be easy to sort but too many minor problems with the paint which would no doubt not be cost effective to get fixed. Shame - almost a car I would buy but I'd never get it to a standard I want
When mixing the paint for my bumper that was resprayed my mate said Gold and Green are the two biggest coulour's and the slightest dash of Blue is added at the end. !
Thanks - I did go see it and decided against it. I didn't notice the rear arch but there was plenty of other issues that put me off. Shame as if the car was prepped properly and painted well it would make a nice car.
Hey, I'm thinking of going to view the petrol blue 182 on eBay on Friday. What sort of paintwork issues and mechanical issues were there? Just don't fancy a wasted journey.
Any reply would be appreciated

Lights driver need refurbished
Bumper re-spray
Wing scratched
Rear bumper scratched
Exhaust new hangers?
Brakes corroded
Driver door ding
Headlining dirty
Service lights on
Interior parts re-sprayed
Non standard rear exhaust
Check engine light on
Brakes dangerous
Much of the above you could fix up pretty easily. The paint would be more problematic.
My bid would start with a 2. I decided it was well overpriced.
