Petrol consumption high

can anyone suggest reasons for this. My mates clio rt 1.4 j plate seems to be drinking a fair bit of petrol has anyone had this problem

i managed 14mpg the other week down throught the country roads into canterbury!

Tyre pressure - check them, this can have a big effect on your MPG!
