Has anyone else entered the qualification stage for the online tournament? The 64 quickest drivers will make it onto the next stage. The time to aim for is 54 seconds or less, I'm struggling to better 56 seconds
I'll try again tonight to achieve 54 seconds but it's going to take one hell of a perfect lap. I've been so close to it and then throw it all away near the end I've yet to master full speed through the chicane, I think that'll help lots.
I think I've already decided that I'll not be in the top 64, I'd be happy to be in the top 500!! I was in the top 1000 yesterday but now i'm somewhere near 1600
I downloaded the new cars yesterday, they are quite cool.
Can anyone show me pics of the Nurburgring from PGR3? The only ones I've seen appear to woefully poor compareed to GT4 on PS2. I don't want this thread to turn into a GT4 vs PGR3, but as a posible Xbox 360 customer I'd like to see how realistic it is. Thanks.
You can download a vid here but if the quality is anything like the pics shown then it may not help you decide. Also not sure if this vid was from the final version.
The version in PGR3 feels like it flows more, it feels like it's been made a bit easier. The version in GT4 has more severe changes in hight and the corners feel almost as harsh as in real life.
Both versions are very impressive though, but personally I prefer the GT4 one. I spent hours driving that, but can't be bothered in PGR3.
Hmmm its not bad, certainly looks nice but I think the GT4 still has the edge with regards to accuracy. Nice vids there.
{Edit} What Lee said basically. I had PGR2 and I used to race it loads and loads, then bought a PS2 when GT4 came out, and thought it was a different track altogether! When I went to the ring last year, been 3 times now, I'm certainly glad I'd played the GT4 version. The PGR one seems to be much softer and more playable than the GT4/Real Life.
I wish Sony didn't hold the F1 license cause I used to enjoy those tracks but the quality of the F1 games on the PS2 has been crap over the past few years.
lol. pleased to be of assistance. I guess I'm like you mate. I only really enjoy serious driving games, a grand prix legends wouldn't go a miss.... I'd play GTR or somethinig if I had a half decent PC
I think you can go faster in different car views. I changed from outside the car (far) to outside the car (near), knocked about 1 sec off straight away ?? Might try that bumper view like on the video.
I always use the incar view, never feels right using the outside options. I'll attempt the lap with bumper cam tonight but I'm usually rubbish when the view is so low
