I like this a lot, Ph1’s are such a pretty little car when they look like this. I need a family car…these have iso fix in the back…and they are simple mechanically and easy to fix…… must resist the temptation. Tbh more appropriate family car than the Z3 I’m currently driving.
When I see good examples of Ph1’s like this it gives me serious motivation to get mine sorted. But then life gets in the way like a baby and a wedding. Both things I could have avoided.

@dann2707 ^^ this! Girlfriend has the proper car and I just need something as a little run around kind of thing. Plus I have issues and this Ph1 is perfect.
I’m actually going to use my E34 as the family car until I save up a bit for something proper to get. But any excuse to have another Ph1. I’m sure I could take my current one to my brothers for storage out of sight out of mind kind of thing, swap it on the drive with this one and she won’t suspect a thing…. Then a few years later I’ll reappear with mine and claim it’s a donor/spares car.

Fair enough if you've already got a family car. I thought you meant you needed one as you don't currently have one.
I was going to say trying to get a baby seat in the back of one of those with a newborn and everything else to go with it would not be fun

There's a lad who takes their kid to our nursery in a lovely tidy classic mini. The baby seat fills up a good 3/4 of the back of the car!
Heroic. Well, until he bins it at anything more than 5mph anyway.

Bringing a newborn into the world my utmost priority would be that the car I drove is safe and has a decent ncap rating.
It's literally that simple. It's common sense.

To take my kid to school in, no.
My point would be that I'd someone had the choice of carting around something so delicate like a baby in either a mk1 mini or something with a decent ncap rating with airbags etc... And that person decided to go for a mini because of cool points then they're selfish and don't have their head screwed on properly.
Safety would be number one priority for me. But I guess we all live our lives differently and have different priorities.
Anyway, enough of clogging up Dan's awesome Ph1. Happy to chat more on pm if you need a final say

Centre caps are in the glovebox. They’re bloody expensive and I don’t want them to go missing.

Question:
If a modern EV SUV crashed into the back on a old Mini at say 40mph, a car that doesn’t have inertia rear seat belts let alone Isofix would you think there is more than a slim chance your child would be in fairly perilous danger??
Now, appreciating that risk maybe small. It’s still there. It grows exponentially the more you drive the car. So whilst I’m all for taking the kids out to enjoy the classic car, using the car as a daily, in my opinion isn’t worth the potential catastrophic risks.
In my opinion the worlds changed, cars are bigger, heavier and faster. Driving standards are worse and there are more people on the road. I personally wouldn’t do it with my kids.
