ph1 172 throttle body

  Lots of Alfas
Very easy removing the airbox bend allows you to get at the throttle. 4 torx bolts and the whole thing is off. For best results remove the top plenum and clean the inside out of that. Theres a guide in the guides section on how to remove it.

As above, i took my plenum off, took all the sensors out, blasted it through with power washer, gave it ages to dry out and the difference was very noticable. Its worth doing. When taking the plenum off its worth getting a new gasket for the inlet, the one on the throttle house to plenum also falls apart.

^^ doubt it give's any performance gains but it does liven the throttle response up quite nicely so its worth doing imo

Will make little difference if any from what I can see. I'm not sure if anyone has ever run any tests on one.

Havent been for a drive yet but the idle is much better just from cleaning it all up :approve:

When i have taken my filter hose off, my TB looks clean even after 47K. Is it the non-visible side which needs cleaning? will it help with the spluttery idle?

How do you get to these guides? When I look in the clio guide section there is nothing in there?

Didn't get round to doing the plenum but I did clean out the throttle body and I must say, it seems slighty more resposnive already. It's definitley worth doing, there was a fair old build up of grime.

Have you seen this by the way? Surely it can't be worth the money!?
