I own a ph1 172 on a x reg, it has the shift light but not the alu bonnet. Is this correct or not??:S

Its a lottery whether you get one or not. Its unusally the early ones X or W in Titanium that have the alu bonnet.

Let's ruffle the carbon guys' feathers... Its been proven that the alu bonnet is lighter than the carbon equivalent. fact.

For reference, age doesn't come into it... my old one was one of the last Ph1s off the line (march 01) and it had both the shift light and alu bonnet.

mine has both to no good having an ali bonnet though when it dont drive as the clutch is fooked

Thats incorrect. From 2001 (not sure what month) the shift light was deleted. I have a circular dished out to Renault dealers explaining. Found out after i complained mine didnt have one lol

Yours must have been built earlier than 2001 and registered in March 2001?

yeah probably... it was an import so was probably abandoned at the docks for months on end! lol
