PH1 gearbox v Ph2 box?

Are they the same box or is one better than the other, My ph1 box is a bit crunchy into 3rd so thinkin syncro or something......

Ph1 boxes have longer gear ratios I'm not sure if it's all gears though and they drive the speed where the ph2 doesnt.

The phase 2 has a shorter final drive.

Early ph2 and all 172 cups have the speedo drive as well.

Both the same box though from a strength point of view.
