ph1 Yellow 172

  VaVa
They look awful imho.

Sunflower wasn't a cost option and it wasn't a limited edition. The only reason they are rare is because no one wanted one. And now, because there are so few of them, people find the colour attractive!

If you look it objectively the Ph1 172 looks s**t in yellow. It looks far better in silver.
It's all about popular trends tbh, like how white seem to have 'come into fashion' recently.

Fait point mate.

Although I'd question if yellow cars have ever really been in fashion lol

Just looks cheap and nasty on the Ph1

LY better on the Ph2 but still not a great fan of that either

Everyone whose seen my car has said the colour looks even better in the flesh than in pics, its much brighter and suits the car down to the ground as afterall its a sporty car, and yellows a sporty colour.

Dont really agree about the whole rarity factor meaning they look s**t, at the end of the day its quite a bold colour choose and when you can only see it on sample cards its a big risk to take when your spending 14k on a car. Same can be said for liquid and petrol and they're both gorgeous colours.

I'd look for a yellow/red/blue one over a silver one purely for depreciation values at the mo, if you look at trends the colours seem to be holding their value much better. Saying thath if you can find an iceburg silver one thy look gorgeous in the flesh

It's a Clio. You might get away with solid yellow on a Lotus or a Lambourghini... but a Clio? Give over lol But as I said, it's all just opinion.

Personally I'm yet to see a 'normal' car look good in yellow

I quite like the yelow, it looks way better than the bopring silver that every other mk1 172 seems to be.

My mate had a yellow 106 gti years ago, I guess they look poo in yellow too ??

I disagree tbh.

Yup. I guess I'm just not a Yellow fan full stop tbh. I'd never buy a yellow car.

I don't think rare cars look s**t...it's just that often people think because cars are rare they're cool/desirable straight away despite looks/performance.

TBH I'd rather have a silver Mk1 172 than the yellow one regardless of the fact that they are common as muck!

I thnk sunflower yellow looks brilliant. In order of preference:

377 - Sunflower Yellow
D44 - Odyssey Blue
B76 - Flame Red
676 - Pearl Black

and then the silvers, really dont want to have to buy a silver one but will if I cant find a good one in one of the nice colours
640 - Iceberg Silver
647 - Titanium

I really like the sunflower yellow. In its day it brightened up a rather dull row of silver cars. Thought this would have been a popular choice, but I guess most owners were real men back in the day. I suspect many more liked the colour than had the nerve to order it though. ;)

good job we weren't all "real men" back in the day then !!! ;)
