Ph2 172 black paint question

Is the 172 and 182 black paint different I'm after a cup spolier but don't think they came in black on ph2?
If they are different is it noticible ?

Yes, they are. Black on a 182 is Black Gold.

Yours will be pearl black. Black gold has gold flake in it. Probably not that noticeable in normal light but under proper light/sun it will show the difference massively.

I guess I'll just grab one in any colour if it has to be painted,

Yep. 4 bolts and 2 screws. Unplug the light clip, undo the washer pipe and away you go.

My car is PB with a BG spoiler. You don't notice the difference unless it is spotless!

When I fitted the BG spoiler you couldn't tell the difference I have the full car resprayed now and it looks no different
